December 2005
Wednesday,

Okay, what are the dramas du
jour?
Got a new car over the weekend…
The dead car came back to life today (don't ask
me!).
I can't get everything done that everyone
(including myself) thinks I can. Last time I was at hockey, I was swamped with
moms trying to give me custom orders or talking to me and I couldn't even focus
on one conversation at a time. I ended up taking pages of notes of things that
people want.
So I said that Wednesday (tonight) will be
"Nellie night"… I'm ONLY working on stuff for Nellie. I'm hoping we can
find a place to set up and work. I hope I can get everything done that she
wants done.
Got a call from Kaiser… Mon's got her ortho appt tomorrow. Blah! I feel the stress already and
haven't even heard any potential outcomes yet.
I finally got some listings up on eBay. Yay! One went right away and two others have bids. Feels
good to at least have bids. I had to pull a bunch of listings off, though,
'cause the hockey moms took some stuff right after I listed them.
As soon as those listings are over, I can update
this website. I apologize to those who come here and then don't see much. If I
get time today, I'll put some new stuff up here.
On the home front, I'm kinda
mad at Tennie (he's the one in the pic, btw, harassing the dog). He stole my lunch sandwich
twice from my bag this morning while I wasn't looking. ARGH! I think I've
discovered, though, that they can't smell the food if it's wrapped in foil… so
I'll try that from the get-go next time.
No clue what's for dinner tonight. I hate not
having a plan or any preparations. That's usually when we either end up getting
cranky ('cause we eat too late) or getting fattening or otherwise unhealthy
food ('cause it's faster) or wasting money we don't have ('cause to get food in
a timely fashion that isn't disgustingly unhealthy… costs).
In a perfect world, I am supremely organized.

That picture is a celebration of the fact that
we went to the ortho specialist last night and found
out our baby girl does indeed have ACLs! Whoohoo!
Turns out her own doctor assumed they were
missing 'cause Moni's so loose jointed. We watched as
he slid her kneecap all over the place and then dislocated her shin bones from
her femur. Blech! It really looked disgusting.
Then he surprised us by also examining Gabe. And
sure enough, same disgusting ability to separate bones.
Everyone is very, very happy.
I need to figure out when we can make a trip to
Grandma's house and show them the new truck. I don't even know yet what days
I'm taking off for the Christmas/New Year season.
Jewelry-wise, the new news is that Gabe finally
got his supplies business up and running (on
eBay). Lots of orders to start off with, but I think that's just because of
the launch. I'm sure it will settle down soon.
Not sure what weird project I want to start
next… I need to finish that bracelet with Chris's pc beads… the wire-wrap
project that will never sell 'cause I put too many hours into it. I also want
to try something for the
Oh, Wednesday at hockey was fun (secreting
ourselves away in the party room… just focusing on one thing at a time)… but I
missed out on visiting with some of my favorite moms, too, then. And I couldn't
find the Midget mom whose earrings I still have… I guess I should just leave
them with Margaret.
Speaking of Margaret, I have to remember I want
to make her a bracelet. Of course now I've forgotten what color she wanted. D'oh!
In a perfect world, I am supremely organized.
(That was left from last time, but it seems a good thing to keep… ha ha ha!)
Although tonight is our night with the kids, ex
is picking them up after school and returning them late tonight. This is his
version of "it's only fair" since he couldn't take Mon to her game on
Saturday I was asked to take her (even though it wasn't my weekend), and she
ended up having to tag along when Mike and I got the call to come take delivery
of our new truck. He can't stand when I have "more time" with the
kids than he thinks I should so he always demands a "trade-off".
Interesting seeing as how I didn't ask to have the responsibility of taking Mon
to her game last Saturday… I was merely picking up his parental slack. Sigh…
Monday,

That picture was from when we went up to Tahoe
last winter for some games and stayed in SB's cabin.
Bear LOVES riding in the car, but it strikes me
as funny that he never knows if he's jumping in for a 30-second trip somewhere
or a 4-hour trip.
This weekend I tried to get as much listed in
the store as possible. Since it's now December, I updated my "New This
Month" section".
I get a lot of requests for articles I've
written… when I can find time, I'll start posting them on this site.
I was going to write out a list of the custom
order requests that are pending but I thought that might cause me too much
stress… I tend to feel panic attacks when I am overwhelmed with things that
NEED TO BE DONE RIGHT
I made a GORGEOUS charm bracelet during in-house
yesterday morning. I sat up in the bleachers all by myself and watched the kids
do hockey practice and what was it… an hour and a half? I'll probably get a
picture of it tomorrow… then I can show off.
Gabe's findings are going
well… he's already selling out of many items.
I have to call the mechanic and see if he can do
anything with the Honda on Wednesday. Why do I procrastinate on things I don't
want to do? Are they THAT terrible or THAT time-consuming? Not usually.
I started an outline of the menu for the Woman
Resource site. I'm excited about Karen taking on a column over there.
Well, nothing exciting to relate… just wanted to
touch base.
Saturday,

I was emailing one of my new customers and I
mentioned liking her eBay name… from which one could assume she gets to pick
her pets. Heh… What I mean by that is that it seems
for the most part, our pets pick us. Why am I the home to so many strays? And
not just animals either. Oh no… I tend to attract strays of all sorts (and
we'll just leave it at that for now).
I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet. Bah!
I made a necklace last night that I was SURE
Mike would say is butt-ugly, so it totally surprised me when he said it wasn't
bad (high praise coming from Mr. I Don't Like Art).
I have to do something creative this weekend…
but I also want to clean some of the house in a very ballistic way… THROWING
THINGS OUT!!!
Monday,

Hey look! I'm getting better... I only missed
Eventually, I'll be adding entries daily.
Let's see, what news... I went through a stack
of papers... totally a major accomplishment for me. Yay!
The down side to that is most of the papers were bills, so I'm about $2000
lighter now.
I feel a wee bit out of sorts... I've got a
couple of things on my mind... no, not Christmas or anything like that... just
stuff... that I don't feel like discussing, I guess.
Going to Mom's tomorrow... which is daft 'cause
I don't have any presents for anyone there. :-( I was so excited about getting
some time off and being able to schedule a visit to grandma's house that I'd
completely forgotten that I'm going empty-handed. ARGH! What a pig I am! And
worse, it's not only Christmas, it's Mom's birthday on the 30th. D'oh!
It's not even the getting the presents that's
the problem... I can't ever THINK of anything cool.
Hockey practice tonight should be the last one
for a several weeks. Oh.. ha ha ha!
Except for goalie camp Wed-Fri.
Well, maybe the week after Christmas will be
restful then.
Have MANY jewelry pieces that need to be photo'd and listed.
Sorry this was a totally lame entry... I told
you I was feeling out of sorts. Blah!
Sunday,

Okay, missed a bunch of days, I know... but Christmas
preparations should count as a great excuse, no?
I would have had more to write here, except that
I spent an hour or so figuring out how to get my entries to show in actual date
order... that used up all the "me time" I was going to expend blogging.
I'm going to go clean up the disaster that was a
living room... bbl
Tuesday,

Today is our anniversary, DH and me.
I'm still not feeling well, so we probably won't
do too much. Most likely go out for a nice lunch and then watch the Penguins
game. Doesn't sound too romantic? Makes us happy. Sometimes we're just too dang
easy to please.
So another Christmas come and gone. Those guys
(in the photo) have both changed radically from a year and a half ago. G-boy is
about 2 inches taller than me. And although Sharkie
is the only non-fat cat we own, he's still much bigger than kitten size,
despite M's lamenting.
Christmas, btw, was awesome... except for the
phone thing (boring story). Everyone got some neat stuff! My head hurts this
morning, so I won't go into the details... maybe later. Thanks, though, if
you're reading this oh giver of wonderful gifts! Okay, some of the things I got
were so neat I *will* have to mention then, but like I said... later.
