March 2006

Wow, it's been a while, huh?
And, interestingly enough, there were some major
changes between my last date of posting and now. Some have to do with jewelry;
others have to do with me personally.
Jewelry-wise, I got schooled (heh) on some of the finer points of metal-smithing and on some of the starter points of lampworking.
I can't thank K&D enough for everything.
K&D, for those who don't know, are beady friends of mine from online. K
flew here from the complete other side of
Anyway, they gave me more than my words of
thanks can ever express… and meeting them in person was monumentally different
from just hangin' with them online.
Okay, enough mush, eh? Let me get on to
business, which means I'm going to try to recap all the stuff that I would have
been putting in here over the past 2-3 weeks, had I been blogging…
Oh, but first, here are my first two lampworking
beads. Nothing I'm proud of, but I do plan to try real hard… practice practice practice..

Okay, what else? I made a KILLER pair of
earrings thanks to Karen… and then the first time I wore them out (and ignored
my intuition which told me to use the earwire
cork/nut), I lost one. D'oh! Will now either turn the
solo into a pendant, or will remake (gag!) the missing one.
I want to get back to Woman Resource… add stuff…
Went to Mom's and picked up a futon for Gabe.
THANKS MOM! (BTW, the house looks amazing!) Didn't entirely get the futon
"built" to optimal specs but it's serving its purpose (as a bed).
Also worth noting, the cats love it! (This is all six indoor cats we have!)

BTW, while K was here, she remarked that Sharkie has no shame. I'm afraid I've got to agree with
her. Although we like to say he's merely doing his impression of an Otter…

When he's awake, he does things like settle in
on my pile of orders going out... and laughs?

And speaking of cats, Mon and I are a little behind on her Feeding the Ferals
project. Although I also forgot to mention to her that I
found another feral colony (no, not one that I'm going to feed… hmph!). And they're funny; they're
Okay, that was definitely not all jewelry-related
news. Ha!
But here's one that's VERY not jewelry related.
Hm… how to express in
words, some of the things I think about?
K&D opened my eyes to some things I had
previously been unable to see. Part of it was just them, the way they are, the
things they say… and I think part of it was just their presence.
During their visit, I saw some things with
renewed (and different) vision (or point of view).
And now, if I don't get out of here I'm not
going to accomplish anything today!
Later!
