Detailed Description
Specifications

The design inspiration for “Thebes” is jewelry found in the tombs of ancient Egypt’s Middle Kingdom Dynasty, which is about 2000 B.C. Thebes, by the way, is the Greek name for an ancient city in Egypt on the east bank of the Nile.

This 19 inch necklace was crafted with 8mm Lapis Lazuli. All the gold you see is 22k Vermeil, which is a technique developed by the French in the mid 1700’s where sterling silver is coated with a heavy layer of gold (there are no base metals in Vermeil). The only gold in this set that is not Vermeil are the earwires which are 14k gold-fill.

Traditionally, Lapis is known as the "Stone of Total Awareness", said to increase creativity and to help expand one's viewpoint. It is believed to improve sleep and cure insomnia. During the Middle Ages, lapis lazuli was believed to maintain the skeleton in healthy condition while keeping the spirit free from the negative emotions of fear and jealousy. Lapis is used to energize the throat chakra and when placed over the brow chakra it induces a heightened state of awareness.

We like to show very large photos of our work so you can see the details, but because these enlarged photos can be misleading we also put the measurements in the item descriptions or show one photo with a size reference. Thanks!

Our one-of-a-kind designs are not repeated so once a jewelry piece is sold that design is gone forever.
