Tiny Cloisonné Enamel Abstract Silver Pendant Necklace

Tiny Cloisonné Enamel Abstract Silver Pendant Necklace

Only 1 left in stock

This very petite pendant was created by me, by hand, starting with ethically sourced fine silver (which is pure 0.999% silver) and Japanese enamels.

After cutting the two shapes and fusing them together with a torch, I dome the metal, then begin firing layers of enamel (powdered glass) on the piece in a 1450 degree kiln.

Cloisonné is a very old technique that includes forming a design out of very thin pure silver (in this case) wires and upwards of 10 layers of enamel each fired individually.  The piece is also counter-enameled (enameled on the back) which helps strengthen the piece and gives it added durability.  This one has clear enamel on the back so you can still see the texture of the silver.

The pendant is about 5/8ths of an inch in diameter.  I have it on a 16-inch sterling silver snake chain.  If you select a different length of chain, it may be a different chain design (all chains are sterling silver).  The jumpring bail is soldered closed for security.
