Welcome to Laura Bracken’s Colored Pencil on Metal Workshop
On this page you will find the instructional videos as well as any handouts.
This is my livelihood so I am asking that you do not share this information and/or links with anyone. Much appreciated.
PREAMBLE
Reminder that this is a self-paced class. The videos will be available forever and you can watch them any time and as many times as you like.
There are many videos in this workshop and within each video I tend to talk about a lot of stuff pertaining to the project. Video #15 kind of shows the process from start to finish, but I HIGHLY recommend you watch all the other videos too because within each one are tidbits of important information. PLEASE use the handout so that you have one place you can easily and quickly see the steps. In the videos I like to share as much information, knowledge, and techniques as possible, and the handout is a great "reminder" tool.
One of the reasons I prefer to use little video clips in my workshops as opposed to one very long video is that sometimes a student needs to go back just to see one particular thing and I’d hate for them to have to wade through a two-hour long video trying to find the one section they’re looking for. So my clips are labeled as to what is shown in them. If you’re looking for anything in particular and can’t find it let me know so I can locate it for you.
I pause the video on occasion to catch up with explaining what I’m doing. I don’t want you to think the video has stalled or is buffering or anything. So long as you hear my voice continuing, that’s just me temporarily pausing the video so my narrative goes along with what you’re seeing.
I’m also hoping that what I lack in professional video recording and editing skills, I make up for with content.
As far as the videos go, I’m going to walk you through the whole process start to finish then I’ll create some videos for some of the alternatives (like special tools riveting, patina instead of gesso, turps blending, tab setting, etc).
